You Can’t Buy Love, But You Can Rescue It!
If you want to give yourself the gift of unconditional love wrapped in a fuzzy, warm bundle, adopt a dog or cat from Mitchell Animal Rescue!
There are two ways to adopt a dog or cat:
Adopt from the City Pound
If you are interested in one of the dogs or cats currently being held in the city pound, you can call (605)996-3242 or stop by the Lakeview Veterinary Clinic. The pets available through the pound are listed on the Mitchell Animal Rescue Facebook page. All animals are held for three business days to allow owners time to claim them. Once the animal has gone unclaimed, they go up for adoption from the pound for a limited time. If they are not adopted after a week or two, Mitchell Animal Rescue adopts them, finds a foster home and attempts to adopt them out to a forever home.
Adopt from the Mitchell Animal Rescue
Many animals available for adoption aren’t found on the MAR Facebook or Instagram page because they are being fostered in homes around the area. Looking for a silly kitten? A reserved older cat? A big lovable dog? A mouser for the barn? Let us know exactly what you are looking for in your adoption application and we can help you find just the right fit through fosters that have gotten to know the animals and understand their personalities.
