All cats in the city of Mitchell pound & Mitchell Animal Rescue will be shown here. If an animal name has a number after it (e.g., Arnie -23) the animal is in the pound and you need to call 996-3242 to adopt. If there is no number (or if the animal is not listed in the Pets in Local Pound link) please fill out an adoption application (Applications link above). If you don't see any cats listed, that is good news. It means there are no adoptable cats at the pound now.
We are in need of a few good foster homes for the dogs and cats we rescue from Mitchell's City Pound. Although we have seen an increase in claims and adoptions of dogs, few cats are claimed. Fostering is a necessary but temporary situation for the unclaimed dogs and cats. We have more cats that need foster homes than we have current homes for them. If you have space in your home and your heart, fill out an application here.
Adoption Fees
Adoption fees from the pound are reasonable fees (call them for specifics at 605 996-3242) that cover parvo for dogs, and distemper and rabies for both dogs and cats.
